I wonder that myself.
The books are amazing, I have read them and not watched the show but i think id like the books more than the show if i were to watch it anyway. I will try it one day, but rn no, so basically i would reccomend trying the books. Try to read them in order (1. Stormbreaker, 2. Point Blanc, 3. Skeleton Key, etc etc) to understand it.

Blunt is horrible! Get Alex to kill him, that would be comedic as hell.
I would recommend either Russian Roulette or Ark Angel as good books, but if you want to read chronologically, definitely read Point Blanc.
