Cayo Esqueleto is a island on the Florida Keys. A majority of the novel Skeleton Key takes place there.

Tourism is a major part of Cayo Esquleto's economy. On the island there is the fishing village of Puerto Madre and the street Brotherhood Square. The island was discovered by Sir Francis Drake, where he found a dead conquistador. The main Airport on the island is Santiago Airport.
